Coto de Caza

An exclusive guard-gated community where nature meets community

Coto de Caza is one of the oldest master-planned communities in Orange County, California. Originally, the area was built to be a hunting lodge, hence the name, Coto de Caza, which literally translates to “Hunting Preserve” in Spanish. The original hunting lodge still stands today and is known as the Lodge at Coto de Caza.

Coto de Caza contains about 4,000 homes, many of which are luxury properties. In fact, Coto de Caza is well known for having some of the most high-end properties in Orange County, California. Residents enjoy an easy commute to I-5, making the area perfect for getting around Orange County. Areas to shop are located minutes away from the community, as is the beach city of Dana Point. This proximity to the rest of Orange County helps ensure that Coto de Caza residents will always have something to keep them entertained.

Additionally, life inside Coto de Caza is very community-driven. Close proximity to neighbors and an abundance of nature preserves, both offer ways to spend your days within the community. Residents with pets can bring their dogs to the local dog park and horse owners can even keep their horses at the Coto de Caza stables, as well as take riding lessons.

The station is also surrounded by a deck, perfect for picnicking, as well as a native plant butterfly garden. Thomas F. Riley Wilderness Park hosts many events throughout the year for visitors to enjoy, and also offers opportunities for Coto de Caza residents to volunteer.
